Gimli Beach is a kitesurfing spot on the west shore of Lake Winnipeg, in the municipality of Gimli, heart of Manitoba's Icelandic community. Gimli is one of the most popular and accessible spots on the lake.
The west shore faces east, receiving east and southeast winds as onshore. The fetch from the east shore (60+ km) generates good conditions. Gimli harbour and the municipal beach offer easy access. Icelandic festival Islendingadagurinn in August. Season from June to October. 1 hour from Winnipeg.
