Olin Park is a kitesurf spot on the south shore of Lake Monona in Madison. This urban park offers direct lake access with good fetch in north winds. Lake Monona is smaller than neighboring Lake Mendota but offers pleasant conditions for kitesurfing and wingfoiling. Convenient in-city spot with parking. Season from May to October.
Freshwater with flat to slightly choppy conditions. Fetch limited by lake size. Moderate depth. Muddy bottom. Pleasant water in summer.
