Bayside Park / J Street is a kitesurfing spot located in Chula Vista, on the south shore of San Diego Bay, California. This sheltered body of water offers ideal conditions for intermediate riders, with reliable northwest thermal winds blowing almost every afternoon from March through October. The shallow bay and calm waters make it an excellent place to progress safely.

Very sheltered bay-style water body with flat to slightly choppy water. Shallow water extending far out (0.5-1.5m), ideal for beginners and intermediates. Water is temperate (16-22°C/61-72°F), a 3/2 wetsuit is sufficient most of the year. Muddy and sandy bottom. Tidal currents are moderate in this part of the bay.
Seagrass beds and mudflats at low tide that can trap riders. Adjacent wildlife refuge area — respect marked boundaries. Boat and jet ski traffic in the bay. Proximity to naval base — certain areas are restricted. Stingrays possible in shallow waters — shuffle your feet when walking.
