Kamaole Park 2 is a kitesurfing spot in Kihei on the south coast of Maui, Hawaii. This golden sand beach is part of the three popular Kamaole parks along the Kihei coast. Northeast trade winds are channeled by Haleakala and arrive mainly from the north. The spot offers light chop to wave conditions with a coral reef offshore. Warm tropical water year-round in a paradise setting with views of Molokini and Kahoolawe islands.

Tropical Pacific Ocean with warm water (23-27°C/73-81°F) — no wetsuit needed, lycra or rashguard sufficient. Light chop to waves depending on conditions. Coral reef offshore creating a calmer inside zone. Sandy bottom near the beach, reef further out. Watch for sea urchins and sharp coral. Sea turtles common.
Coral reef — serious injuries possible if falling on reef. Sea urchins. Protected sea turtles (honu) — maintain distance. Tidal currents along the reef. Shore break can be powerful. Beach very busy with tourists and swimmers — caution when launching. Respect designated swimming areas.
