Flinders is a kitesurfing spot located at the southern tip of the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, on the ocean coast facing Bass Strait. It is a historic and picturesque village offering sailing conditions in a magnificent setting. The prevailing wind comes from the southwest to west in summer. Waves are moderate to strong with exposure to Bass Strait. The bottom is a mix of sand and reef. Conditions are more demanding than in Port Phillip Bay. The best season is from November to March. The spot is suitable for intermediate to advanced riders. The water is cold, a thick wetsuit is required. Flinders is a charming village with a historic pub, galleries and shops. Parking available.
