Cosqueville is located on the northeastern tip of the Cotentin peninsula, near Gatteville-le-Phare lighthouse, one of the tallest lighthouses in France. This wild spot faces north-northeast and sits between two powerful currents (the Raz Barfleur is 5 km away — one of the strongest sea currents in the world).
Exposed and spectacular, the spot is reserved for experienced riders familiar with the local conditions. It works from N to NE and can offer excellent waves and strong consistent wind in these directions. The magnificent natural setting attracts adventurous kite riders, but the remote location and powerful currents require full caution. CNPS (Club Nautique de la Pointe de Saire) is the local community reference.

SW to SE: offshore — extremely dangerous with the Raz de Barfleur current nearby. Highly variable wind near the headland — strong local acceleration possible. Check weather forecast very carefully and never go out alone.
Wild and isolated spot on the north Cotentin cape — practice with a local or experienced rider who knows the spot. Strong currents possible near the Barfleur-Gatteville headland zone, one of the strongest in Europe. Rocks at low tide. No lifeguards, no infrastructure nearby. Offshore winds on this cape are very dangerous.
