Makira is a kitesurfing spot on the southwest coast of Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture. This spot offers flat water behind coral reefs with warm tropical waters. The wind season is October to February with northeast trade winds.

Tides are significant. Kitesurf infrastructure is limited. Suited for intermediate riders.
