Akaishi is a kitesurfing spot on Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture. Ishigaki is nicknamed the "Mauritius of Asia" for its turquoise waters and coral reefs. The spot offers flat water behind the reef that breaks the waves, along dozens of kilometers of coastline.

The wind season is October to February. Northeast trade winds dominate in winter. Tides are significant. Kitesurf infrastructure is limited on the island. Suited for intermediate riders.
