Zoutelande is a kitesurf and windsurf spot on the west coast of the island of Walcheren (Zeeland), facing directly west onto the North Sea. Excellent exposure to the dominant SW/W/NW winds. Typical North Sea conditions: steady sea breeze, waves, and large tidal range. Beautiful dune landscape.
Quiet seaside village — less crowded than Brouwersdam or Domburg. NKV designated zone. Year-round accessible. Intermediate level recommended due to North Sea swell and currents. Full wetsuit required: 3/2mm minimum in summer, 5/4mm in winter with gloves and boots. Can combine a session here with Domburg (7km north) in the same day.
NKV zone on site. Large tidal range — conditions vary significantly with tide. Check local signs. Village access via N287. Good base for exploring multiple Zeeland spots (Domburg, Vrouwenpolder, Brouwersdam all within 30km). Free or paid beach parking.
North Sea — waves depending on wind. Choppy to medium waves in W/NW. Large tidal range. Cold year-round. Good for freeride and wave riding. Windy conditions can be demanding in strong SW/W.
