Ishikari is a kitesurfing spot on the west coast of Hokkaido, north of Sapporo. This spot is one of the most accessible in Hokkaido thanks to its proximity to the island's capital. Prevailing west to northwest winds are powerful and consistent, driven by Siberian low-pressure systems.
The water is exposed to the Sea of Japan with chop to wave conditions. Tides are present. The sailing season runs mainly from May to October, as winter is too harsh. Suited for intermediate to advanced riders.
Open all year round
