The Lac de Laffrey is a natural alpine lake at 907m altitude on the Matheysine plateau (Isère), about 30km south of Grenoble. It is part of the "Lacs de Laffrey" chain of four lakes well known to kitesurfers and windsurfers in the region.
The lake benefits from regular north and south thermal winds funneled by the Matheysine valley. Wind is strongest in spring and summer afternoons. A weather station is linked to the spot for real-time monitoring.
