Steinhuder Meer is the largest lake in Lower Saxony, offering a vast water surface ideal for kitesurfing. Its shallow average depth of about 1.5 meters makes it a very safe spot suitable for all levels.
West and southwest winds are prevailing and sweep across the lake surface without obstacles. The flat and shallow body of water is perfect for learning kitesurfing and wingfoil. The lake gets very busy on windy days.
