Draper is a kitesurf spot on Lake Stanley Draper, a reservoir southeast of Oklahoma City. This 12 km² lake offers good fetch and the powerful south winds characteristic of Oklahoma. Alternative to Lake Hefner with less boat traffic. Beaches and boat ramps available. Season from April to November.

Freshwater with variable visibility. Water temperature from 5°C in winter to 28°C in summer. Large lake with good fetch. Muddy to sandy bottom. Moderate to strong chop in sustained south winds. Shorty or rashguard in summer, 4/3 wetsuit in spring/fall.
TORNADOES: Oklahoma is in Tornado Alley — monitor weather constantly. Violent thunderstorms with lightning, hail, and destructive winds April to June. Powerful south winds. Motorboat traffic. Water moccasin and copperhead snakes. Blue-green algae possible in summer.
