Romanos Glufadaki is a spot on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese, in Messenia, near Romanos village and the Costa Navarino resort complex. This magnificent golden sand beach faces west toward the Ionian Sea, offering kitesurfing and surfing conditions with the NW Maestro.
The Romanos/Navarino area has become one of the Peloponnese's premium destinations thanks to the Costa Navarino resort development. The beaches are spectacular, with fine sand and crystal-clear waters in a preserved natural setting.
Afternoon sessions with the NW Maestro. The open coast offers interesting wave conditions for wave-riding and surfing. In light wind, excellent for wingfoil. Beaches are spacious and less crowded with kitesurfers than Gialova.
Open water with waves of 0.5-1.5m in Maestro and long W swell. Excellent sandy bottom. Crystal-clear deep blue water. Temperature: 23-27°C in summer. Ideal conditions for wave-riding when waves are present.

Access from Romanos village or via Costa Navarino resort roads. Parking along coastal paths. The area is upscale tourism with hotels, restaurants, and golf. Kalamata is 1.5h away, Kalamata airport serves the region.
Shore break in strong swell. Coastal currents. Beaches can be isolated — sail in groups. Tourist area — respect marked swimming zones.
Dominant NW Maestro in summer, arriving side-onshore on this west-facing coast. Typical strength: 12-20 knots. The open coast also receives long Ionian Sea swell, creating interesting waves for surfing and wave-riding. W/WSW thermal develops in the afternoon.
