Banana Beach is a spot on Zakynthos (Zante) east coast, facing the Peloponnese across the channel. Zakynthos is an Ionian island — the dominant wind is the summer Maestro (NW), but on the east coast, the island blocks the direct Maestro. The spot works mainly in channeled N/NNW wind through the strait between Zakynthos and the Peloponnese, creating side-onshore conditions on this NE-facing coast.
Rideable May to September with channel wind. Launch from the sandy beach. Wind generally lighter than the west coast — plan for larger kites (12-14m²). Very busy tourist beach — respect swimming zones. Some water activities on site.
Semi-sheltered water in the channel. Moderate chop. Gradually deepening sandy bottom. Warm turquoise water in summer. Fetch limited by the Peloponnese's proximity.

Open all year round
Parking at Banana Beach, accessible from Zakynthos's east coastal road. The beach is touristy — paid parking in summer. Paved access from Zakynthos town.
Tourist beach — very many swimmers in summer, maintain safety distance. Tourist boats and jet skis. Maritime traffic in the channel (ferries). Wind can be irregular in the channel.
Zakynthos's east coast is sheltered from the direct Maestro (NW) by the island's mountains. The main wind here is a N/NNW channel wind that funnels through the Zakynthos-Peloponnese strait. This channeled wind can reach 12-18 knots in summer. In NNE/N, it arrives side-onshore. Channel wind is less consistent than the direct Maestro on the west coast. Thermal breezes in the afternoon.
