Hvide Sande is a unique spot offering an exceptional dual aspect: on the North Sea side, one of Europe's best wave kitesurf spots, and on the Ringkøbing Fjord side, a perfect flat water lagoon. This duality makes it one of Denmark's most versatile spots.
Located on the Holmsland Klit peninsula, Hvide Sande separates the North Sea from Ringkøbing Fjord. Riders can choose between wave sessions on the ocean side and flat water sessions on the fjord side depending on daily conditions.
Kite surfers access the water at the northern end of the small bay; windsurfers use the southern area. The spot offers a small sandy beach, grass area and station infrastructure. Best season: March to June and September to November.
Open all year round

Fjord side: flat water with large standing area, sandy bottom. North Sea side: waves up to 2 meters, more demanding conditions. Maximum water temperature 17°C. Wetsuit required year-round.
Large paid parking at 40 DKK per day directly at the spot, allowing gear transport. Visitor parking at the front requires material-free access only. Overnight parking is not allowed. Car or campervan recommended.
All wind directions work except westerly winds. In west winds, it's recommended to head to the Kloster flat water spot or one of the Hvide Sande wave spots. Best wind season: April to June and September to October.
On the North Sea side, conditions can be very strong with powerful waves - reserved for experienced riders. Wind lulls are possible in summer. Always monitor weather forecasts carefully.
