Lac Maskinongé is a lake in the Lanaudière region, near Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, at approximately 148 meters altitude. This lake offers a good-sized water body for lake kitesurfing.
The lake stretches about 8 km on an east-west axis, with a width of 1 to 3 km. West and southwest winds, dominant in Quebec during summer, offer excellent fetch along the lake. Calm and natural environment, surrounded by forested hills. Season from June to September. Accessible from Montreal in 1.5 hours.
Clear fresh water. Pleasant summer temperature (20-23°C). Sandy to muddy bottom. Moderate chop in sustained winds. The east-west oriented lake favors dominant west/southwest winds. Average depth, caution near shorelines. Calm waters ideal for progression.
