Kiwengwa is a kitesurf spot on the northeast coast of Zanzibar. This white sand beach faces east onto the Indian Ocean and enjoys the southeast trade winds during the Kusi season (June to October). The coral reef creates a vast reef flat that is exposed at low tide, offering ultra-flat water conditions ideal for kitesurfing. The tide radically transforms conditions: the water can retreat for hundreds of meters. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediates on the reef flat.
