Nahoon Beach is one of East London's most popular beaches, known for its good surf waves and reliable kite conditions. This long sandy beach offers an urban setting with warm subtropical waters (20-24°C). The spot is accessible with good infrastructure. Suitable for intermediate riders on the beach, watch for surfers in the wave zone.
The spot works in SW to SE winds. Long sandy beach with regular waves. Tide influences conditions: at low tide, very wide beach and easy launch zone. At high tide, beach is narrower and waves closer to shore. Kite zone separated from the surf zone.

Easy access from East London centre. Large parking on the Nahoon Beach waterfront. Tarred road. Toilets, showers and restaurants on the beach. Residential area with all amenities.
The dominant wind is the south-west (SW), blowing side-onshore on this south-facing coast. East London is nicknamed "Windy City" for its reliable summer winds. SW thermal wind reinforced in the afternoon. SE to S winds are also favourable. Season: October to March.
Powerful shore break in large swell. Coastal currents. Many surfers in the wave zone, respect dedicated areas. Sharks occasionally present (shark nets installed). Jellyfish in summer. Swimmers in peak season.
