This beautiful sandy beach offers a family-friendly and accessible setting for kitesurfing, with the option of sailing in flat water in the estuary or in ocean conditions on the beach.

Strong current at the Kariega mouth, especially on outgoing tide. Shore break in big swell. Sharks present in these waters. Sun protection essential.
The dominant wind is south-westerly, side-onshore on this south-facing coast. Westerly and WSW winds are also favourable. Regular south-westerly thermals in summer afternoons. Typical strength of 15-25 knots.
