Alkandstrand is Richards Bay's ocean beach, on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast. This sandy beach offers open-sea kite conditions with warm tropical waters (22-26°C). Ocean alternative to the flat-water spot at Pelican Island. Suitable for intermediate riders.
The spot works in NE to SE winds. Sandy beach exposed to swell. Best at mid-tide. Less sheltered than Pelican Island in the bay.
