Overview

Alkandstrand is Richards Bay's ocean beach, on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast. This sandy beach offers open-sea kite conditions with warm tropical waters (22-26°C). Ocean alternative to the flat-water spot at Pelican Island. Suitable for intermediate riders.

Shore break. Coastal currents. Sharks present (bull sharks and Zambezi sharks). Jellyfish in summer. Solo sailing not recommended.
