Seconds is a kite spot on Strand beach, named after a local landmark. It's a section of the long beach between Strand and Gordon's Bay, popular for kitesurfing and windsurfing. The spot benefits from the same powerful SE wind crossing False Bay. Less crowded than the main Strand spot, it offers more space for riding.
Works in SE, SSW and SW from October to March. Wind picks up early afternoon. Rideable at all tides. Good spot for freeriding and jumps thanks to available space.
Chop to small waves. Sandy bottom. Water at 17-21°C, warmer than the Atlantic, 3/2 wetsuit to shorty. Moderate lateral current.
Intermediate

Parking along the coastal road (Beach Road). Less pressure than the main Strand spot. Leave nothing visible in your vehicle.

The SE (Cape Doctor) crosses False Bay and arrives side-onshore to side-shore, 18-30+ knots from October to March. SSW and SW also work onshore. Conditions are often powerful with possible gusts. Wind more consistent than on the bay's western shore.
