Brighton Beach is a kite spot in the Bluff area, south of Durban. This residential beach offers good kite and surf conditions in a quiet, local setting. Warm tropical waters (22-26°C). The spot benefits from shark nets. Suitable for intermediate riders.
The spot works in NE to SE winds. Sandy beach with regular waves. Tide influences conditions: at low tide, wide beach and easy launch. Shark nets in place. Less crowded than the Golden Mile.

The dominant wind is the NE (summer trade wind), blowing side-onshore. The Bluff creates local wind effects. SSW winds also work with a side-offshore component creating flatter water. NE thermal wind reinforced in the afternoon. Year-round, best October to April.
Shore break in large swell. Coastal currents. Sharks despite nets. Jellyfish (bluebottles) in summer. Swimmers on weekends.
