Uroa Beach is a kitesurf spot on the east coast of Zanzibar. The beach faces east onto the Indian Ocean and receives the southeast trade winds during the Kusi season (June to October). The offshore coral reef creates a reef flat that is exposed at low tide, perfect for flat-water kitesurfing. The tide completely transforms the spot: the water retreats very far at low tide, revealing an immense reef flat. The spot is suitable for beginners and intermediates with warm, shallow waters.
