Wind specificities

The dominant wind is the southeast, blowing side-onshore on this south-facing beach. It typically picks up in the early afternoon reaching 15-25 knots. The Outeniqua Mountains to the north can create turbulence effects and gusts with northwest wind. Southwest wind accompanies cold fronts and can be strong but unstable. The Touw River valley can locally accelerate the wind.
