Myoli Beach is the main beach of Sedgefield, one of the most popular spots on the Garden Route for kitesurfing. This long golden sandy beach faces south and fully benefits from the southeast thermal wind. The beach is spacious and well-suited for kiting with plenty of space for launching and landing. Sedgefield is a quiet small town on the Garden Route, with all services nearby.
The spot works mainly with SE wind in side-onshore. The beach faces due south, making it a reliable spot for the SE thermal. Rideable at all tides, but at low tide the beach is very wide and the shore break further out. Best between 12pm and 5pm in summer. The spot has an established local kite community.
Waves of 1-2 metres, ideal for wave riding with SE wind. Sandy bottom along the entire beach. Moderate chop in strong wind. Waves are regular and less powerful than on the west coast. Water temperature between 17-21°C (Indian Ocean influence). 3/2 wetsuit in summer, 4/3 in winter.

Shore break can be powerful during large swells. Lateral currents possible during strong southwest swells. Sharks present in the area — stay vigilant. No permanent lifeguard. Wind can strengthen rapidly in the late afternoon. Avoid riding alone.
The southeast wind (Cape Doctor) is the main wind, blowing side-onshore. It picks up in the early afternoon between October and March, regularly reaching 15-25 knots. This is one of the windiest spots on the Garden Route thanks to the optimal beach orientation. Southwest wind accompanies cold fronts with stronger conditions.
