Kelso is a kite spot on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, south of Scottburgh. This beach offers good kite conditions with warm tropical waters (22-26°C). Quiet, uncrowded holiday residential spot. Suitable for intermediate riders with regular waves.
The spot works in NE to SE winds. Sandy beach with regular waves. Tide influences conditions. Best at mid-tide. Uncrowded, good sailing area.

The dominant wind is the NE (summer trade wind), blowing side-onshore. Reliable thermal wind in the afternoon. East winds also work. Year-round, best October to April.
Shore break in large swell. Coastal currents. Sharks present on the south coast. Jellyfish in summer. Solo sailing not recommended.
