Garfield is a kite spot on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, in the Amanzimtoti area. This beach offers regular kite conditions with warm tropical waters (22-26°C). Residential spot quieter than central Durban. Suitable for intermediate riders.
The spot works in NE to SE winds. Sandy beach with regular waves. Tide influences conditions. Less crowded than central Durban beaches.

The dominant wind is the NE (summer trade wind), blowing side-onshore. SSW wind also works, blowing side-offshore and creating flatter conditions. NE thermal wind in the afternoon. Year-round, best October to April.
Shore break in large swell. Coastal currents. Sharks despite nets. Jellyfish in summer. Swimmers on weekends.
