Hartenbos is a family beach resort west of Mossel Bay, on the Garden Route. The long sandy beach is popular in summer for holidaymakers and kitesurfers. The spot offers intermediate conditions with reliable wind and moderate waves. The village has all amenities with restaurants, accommodation and camping.
Works in SE, E and SW from October to March. Long beach with plenty of space. Rideable at all tides. Moderate waves.
Moderate waves on sandy bottom. Water at 17-21°C (Indian Ocean influence), 3/2 to shorty wetsuit. Warmer than the west coast.

Sharks (great whites in the Mossel Bay area). Lateral current. Swimmers in summer — keep your distance.
SE and E are side-onshore, 15-25 knots from October to March. SW is also usable (onshore). The Garden Route marks the transition between Atlantic and Indian Ocean wind systems — wind can come from multiple directions.
