Hawston is a coastal village between Kleinmond and Hermanus, on the western shore of Walker Bay. The beach offers intermediate kite conditions with onshore SE wind and moderate waves. Less crowded than Grotto Beach, it's a good alternative when Hermanus is too busy.
Works in SE from October to March. Rideable at all tides. Moderate waves. Wind picks up early afternoon.

Moderate waves on sandy bottom. Water at 14-18°C, 3/2 to 4/3 wetsuit. Moderate lateral current.
Parking along Hawston beach. Be vigilant with your belongings — leave nothing in your vehicle.
SE (Cape Doctor) onshore, 15-25 knots from October to March. Well exposed to Walker Bay thermal wind. Similar conditions to Grotto Beach but often less crowded.
Sharks in Walker Bay. Lateral current. Possible car break-ins. Whales in season.
