SUP Beach is a small section of beach on the False Bay coast between Muizenberg and Strandfontein, popular for stand-up paddleboarding and kitesurfing. The spot is well sheltered and offers calm conditions ideal for SUP and learning to kite. The sandy bottom and shallow water make it a safe place for beginners.
Works in SE from October to March. Ideal at low and mid tide for more space. Windless mornings are perfect for SUP, afternoons for kiting when the thermal kicks in.

Calm to choppy water depending on wind. Sandy bottom, shallow water. Temperature 16-20°C in summer, 3/2 wetsuit recommended. Very gentle conditions.
Free parking along the coastal road. Do not leave anything visible in your vehicle.
SE (Cape Doctor) onshore wind dominant from October to March, 15-25 knots. Conditions often more moderate than on exposed bay spots. Good spot when wind is too strong elsewhere.
Sharks (great whites) in False Bay. Car break-ins. Occasional jellyfish.
