Yellowsands is a golden sandy beach in the northern suburbs of East London. This spot offers good kite conditions on an accessible beach with warm subtropical waters (20-24°C). More accessible than isolated Wild Coast spots, with urban infrastructure nearby. Suitable for intermediate riders.
The spot works in SW to SE winds. Exposed sandy beach with moderate swell. Tide influences beach width. Best at mid-tide. At low tide, large launch zone. More accessible conditions than point spots.

The dominant kite wind is the south-west (SW), blowing side-onshore on this south-facing coast. SE to S winds are also favourable. East London is known for its regular summer winds. SW thermal wind reinforced in the afternoon. Season: October to March.
Shore break possible in large swell. Coastal currents in strong wind. Sharks occasionally present along the coast. Jellyfish in summer. Swimmers present in peak season.
