Black Rock is a kite spot on a rocky headland on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, near Scottburgh. This exposed spot offers committed conditions with waves over rocky bottom and warm tropical waters (22-26°C). Reserved for advanced riders due to reef and currents. Good waves for wave riding.
The spot works in NE to SE winds with south swell. The reef creates quality waves. Tide is critical: at low tide, the reef is very exposed and dangerous. Best at mid to high tide.

The dominant wind is the NE, blowing side-onshore. The rocky headland creates local accelerations. SSW winds work side-offshore. Best with moderate NE and south swell. Year-round, best October to April.
