The NE wind (summer trade wind) enters the bay and creates rideable conditions. The bay can channel or block wind depending on direction. East winds also work. Wind often lighter in the bay than on open sea. Rideable year-round.
Shipping traffic (cargo ships, boats). Restricted port zones. Strong tidal currents. Bull sharks present in the bay. Murky water. Never sail in the shipping channel.
