Platboombaai is an isolated bay in the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, near the Cape of Good Hope. This white sandy beach offers relatively sheltered conditions for the southern peninsula. The south-easterly Cape Doctor blows side-onshore, creating more rideable conditions than elsewhere on the peninsula's south coast. Exceptional natural setting in the national park, with baboons and ostriches. Advanced spot due to isolation and changing conditions.
Works with the SE Cape Doctor as side-onshore in this south-facing bay. Moderate waves (0.5-2 m) thanks to the bay protection. One of the few rideable spots at the southern tip of the peninsula. Advanced due to isolation and variable conditions.
