Oualidia Lagoon is a stunning flat water lagoon surrounded by high cliffs, ~180 km south of Casablanca. Protected from Atlantic swell by sandbars, it's one of Morocco's best freestyle and beginner spots.
At low tide, sandbars are uncovered creating shallow flat water — perfect for freeride. At high tide with swell, small waves form inside the pass for directional practice. Strong current towards outside pass at lowering tide — be careful.
Oualidia is famous as Morocco's 'oyster capital'. Beautiful setting, nice restaurants, small hotels. A hidden gem for kiters seeking flat water away from the Essaouira crowds.
