Betty's Bay is a coastal village in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, between Gordon's Bay and Kleinmond. The coast is rocky with beach sections, exposed to ocean swell. Conditions are advanced with waves and rocks. The village is known for its African penguin colony at Stony Point. The setting is spectacular between mountains and ocean.
Works in SE from October to March. Rocky coast makes water access technical. High tide can submerge some access points. Waves 1 to 2m.
Waves on rocky bottom. Abundant kelp. Cold water (12-16°C), 4/3 wetsuit recommended. Coastal current.
