Misty Cliffs is a wild and isolated spot between Scarborough and Witsands on the southern Atlantic coast of the Cape Peninsula. As the name suggests, misty cliffs dominate this stretch of coast battered by Atlantic swells. Extreme conditions with big waves breaking on rocks and south-easterly offshore wind. Spot exclusively reserved for experts who know the area perfectly. The setting is spectacular but the dangers are major.
Works in big SW/W swell with SE Cape Doctor offshore. Waves of 2 to 5+ meters on rocks and reefs. Expert only. Conditions rarely perfectly aligned.

Very limited parking along the M65. Difficult access via steep paths from the road. No infrastructure.
SE Cape Doctor offshore. Strong and gusty wind due to the cliffs and rugged terrain. Very technical and dangerous conditions.
EXTREME DANGER: cliffs, rocks, massive waves. Violent offshore wind. Freezing water. Currents. Sharks. Total isolation — no lifeguards, difficult access. EXPERTS ONLY.
