Mombasa Channel is an urban kitesurfing spot located in the Mombasa channel, Kenya's second largest city. The spot faces east onto the Indian Ocean and benefits from the southeast trade winds during the Kusi season (June to October). Conditions are suitable for intermediate riders due to maritime traffic, channel currents and the urban environment. The tide strongly influences conditions with a tidal range of approximately 3 metres. The spot offers a unique urban kite experience on the East African coast.
