Lagoon protected by the coral reef, depth 1-2m depending on tides. Safe zone for beginners and intermediates. Starting point for wave spots (Manawa, One Eye, Chameau, Little Reef). If red flag is up, do not approach the channel and stay in the lagoon. Rescue service by Ion Club (€50 in lagoon, €100 in waves).
Flat to slightly choppy water in the lagoon depending on wind direction. Warm water (25-28°C) year-round. Sandy bottom in the lagoon, coral reef at edges. Tide influences depth — at low tide, some areas become very shallow.

Open all year round
Parking accessible near Le Morne beach. Can park at nearby hotels (Riu, St. Regis). Free parking area along the coastal road.
Dominant southeast trade winds from May to November, with strongest conditions June to September (15-25 knots). Wind is side-shore to side-on from east to southeast. Afternoons generally offer the best conditions thanks to thermal reinforcement. South wind makes the water choppier.
