Overview

Jack Beach is a beach break located in Dar Bouazza, a coastal suburb about 30 minutes south of Casablanca. It's primarily a popular surf spot, but kitesurfers and wingfoilers from the city regularly gather here when wind conditions allow.

The wide, open sandy beach makes launching and landing kites easy. The beach break picks up north to northwest swells well, with quality waves year-round and more consistent conditions from November to May during Atlantic winter storms.

Wind is inconsistent compared to Essaouira — it depends mainly on coastal thermals and weather systems. In spring, steady NE wind sessions allow riding on 9-12m² kites. In winter, powerful southerly fronts combined with swell deliver excellent wave sessions in cross-shore wind with 7-8m² kites.

Jack Beach is the most accessible spot in the Dar Bouazza area for kitesurfing thanks to its sandy bottom (unlike the sea urchin-covered reef at Dar Bouazza/La Bobine just to the north). Relaxed atmosphere, many restaurants and cafés along the beach, very busy on weekends with Casablanca families.

Parking

From Casablanca, head towards El Jadida. After 12 km, turn right towards Dar Bouazza via the coastal road for 5 km. Parking along the beach, can be tricky on weekends. About 30 minutes from central Casablanca.

Hazards

Beach gets very crowded on weekends with swimmers and soccer players — be careful when launching and landing. Currents possible during big swells. Wind can be irregular and gusty, especially thermal winds.

Wind specificities

No regular dominant wind like Essaouira. The spot works mainly with: coastal thermals (light, cross-on to onshore, often gusty), NE wind in spring (more sustained sessions, cross-shore), and southerly fronts in winter (strong, gusty but great for wave riding). Expect 9-12m² kites for thermal sessions and 7-8m² for winter storms.
