Cabo Verde

Overview

Shipwrecks is a stretch of coastline on the northwest tip of Boa Vista Island, Cape Verde, north of Sal Rei. Named after the remains of old shipwrecks visible along the shore, it's a wild, scenic spot that offers both flat water and wave riding options.

The area sits between Sal Rei to the south and Ponta Antonia to the east. The wind is side-shore to side-onshore, creating varied conditions depending on your exact position along the coast.

Shipwrecks is less frequented than Praia Carlota and offers a more adventurous, uncrowded experience. It's often used as a waypoint on downwind trips between Sal Rei and Ponta Antonia.
