Gott Bay is the main beach on the island of Tiree, nicknamed the "Hawaii of the North" for its record sunshine and consistent winds. This large white sand bay facing east/northeast is one of the most renowned spots in Scotland. Tiree is the windiest place in the United Kingdom, with exceptional conditions for kitesurfing almost year-round. The shallow water extending a great distance makes this spot accessible.
Open all year round

Parking near the road that runs along the bay. Tiree is accessible by ferry from Oban (about 4h crossing with CalMac) or by plane from Glasgow with Loganair. Car rental available on the island. Limited accommodation, book in advance.
Tidal currents at the entrance of the bay. Ebbing tide can create outgoing currents. Very cold water (5/4 wetsuit minimum). Wind can pick up very quickly on this exposed island. Few rescue services — self-sufficiency required.
