Plimiri is a kitesurfing spot at the extreme south of Rhodes, a few kilometers east of Prasonisi. This small fishing village offers a wild and authentic setting with a sand and pebble beach facing south. In strong Meltemi, the NW wind wraps around the island tip and creates cross-shore to side-onshore conditions. Plimiri is a less crowded alternative to Prasonisi, ideal for riders seeking tranquility in southern Rhodes.
Plimiri works with the NW Meltemi wrapping around the south tip. Requires strong Meltemi to work well. Open riding area to the south. No water sports center — total self-sufficiency. Quiet alternative to Prasonisi (10 min drive). Intermediate conditions.
Southern Rhodes waters between Aegean and Mediterranean, 23-27°C in summer. 2mm shorty or lycra. Sand/pebble bottom. Moderate chop to waves depending on wind strength. Current possible near the south tip.

Potentially strong current near the south tip of Rhodes. Isolated spot — sail with a partner. Wind can be gusty (island wrap-around). Rocky bottom in some areas. Strong sun exposure. Little rescue nearby.
Plimiri receives the NW Meltemi after it wraps around the southern tip of Rhodes. Wind arrives mainly from NW/W, cross-shore to side-onshore on this south coast. When the Meltemi is strong to very strong (25+ knots), the wind wraps effectively and Plimiri offers solid conditions of 15-22 knots. In light to moderate Meltemi, the spot can lack wind. Works best in midsummer (July-August) when the Meltemi is at its peak.
