Nafplio is a spot at the head of the Argolic Gulf, near the magnificent historic town of Nafplio (former capital of Greece). The very protected water at the head of the gulf offers ideal conditions for beginners and progression, with light winds and flat water.
Nafplio is one of Greece's most beautiful towns, with its Palamidi fortress, Venetian old town, and Bourtzi fort in the bay. The kite spot benefits from the S/SSW thermal breeze that penetrates the gulf in the afternoon.
Afternoon sessions (2-7 PM) with the thermal breeze. Ultra-flat water at the head of the gulf. Very gentle conditions ideal for beginners, light wingfoil, and paddle. Combine kitesurfing with historic town visit — a perfect weekend program.
Ultra-flat, very protected water. Almost no chop even in moderate wind. Sandy and muddy bottom in places. Progressive depth. Warm water (24-28°C in summer in this semi-enclosed gulf). Magnificent view of Palamidi fortress while sailing.
