Between the shore and a parallel stone jetty runs a protected shallow zone: flat as a table even in strong wind, standing depth throughout — excellent for beginners and freestyle. Experienced riders head further out onto the open Grevelingenmeer for more speed and space. In W/NW storms: possible to use the dyke shelter, but conditions become gusty. Very crowded on summer weekends. Park directly at the water's edge — free. Hidden behind a small wood, accessed via a side road parallel to the N57.">

De Punt / Grevelingenmeer is a flat-water kitesurf and windsurf spot on the north end of the Brouwersdam, on the Grevelingenmeer side. Located at the northern tip of the dam ("de punt" = the point), this free-access spot is ideal in east wind — the perfect complement to the Brouwersdam North Sea spot which only works in west/north wind.

Access: from the N57, take the parallel side road east along the water, turn off over the railway tracks into the small wood — follow signs to the spot. Free parking directly at the water. Protected bay between shore and stone jetty: standing depth, flat water — beginners and freestyle. Open water outside the jetty: deeper, more speed, bump and jump. In W/NW blow: dyke shelter behind the dam (gusty, advanced only). Spot hidden behind trees — easy to miss from the main road.
Protected bay: flat water, standing depth (1–1.5m), perfect for beginners and freestyle. Open water: flat to light chop, no waves, no tides (Grevelingenmeer inland salt lake). In strong wind the bay stays flat even when open water gets choppy. Water temperature pleasant in spring (warmer than North Sea). Shells on seabed — booties recommended.

Open all year round
Free parking directly at the water. From N57, take the side road east along the embankment, turn over the railway tracks into the small wood. GPS: De Punt, Brouwersdam north, Zeeland. Less than 5 metres from the car to the water.
Stone jetty runs parallel to shore — stay inside for beginners, watch for submerged stones at edges. Wooden posts, signs and buoys in the water. No kite in the small bay area. In W/NW storms: wind comes off the dyke — very gusty, only for advanced riders. Very crowded on summer weekends. Booties recommended (shells on seabed). No standing area outside the protected bay.
Best in E/SE/S — onshore into the bay. Also works N/NE. W/NW: gusty as wind passes over the dyke — only experienced riders. NE most stable. Wind generally lighter than on the North Sea side. Ideal complement to Brouwersdam beach: when Brouwersdam works (W/SW/NW), De Punt is offshore — and vice versa with E wind.
