Spot de

Overview

Le Goulet — Étang de Leucate — Leucate Village. THE reference windsurf spot of Leucate — first to catch the Tramontane, optimal conditions for riders of all levels. Magnificent Canigou backdrop. Home of the Wesh Center Crew (Julien Taboulet, windsurf world champion).

By Tramontane NW: side-on, formed chop — ideal for freeride, freestyle, slalom and speed. Kicker available for freestyle. Flat zones along the shore, open chop in the middle. By Marin/East: also works, different character.

Camping-car area directly on spot (overnight ok). WCC restaurant/bar for après-session. When Tramontane too strong here: fall back to Éole (1-2 Beaufort less).

Clapot: formed chop from 5-6 Beaufort — powerful for jumping but requires waterstart. Crowded: popular spot, mix of windsurf, kite, wing, SUP. Respect zones.

Wind specificities

Tramontane (NW/NNW): FIRST spot hit — 1-2 Beaufort MORE than Éole or Dosses. Side-on. When Tramontane is slow to arrive or fading, the Goulet always registers 1-2 forces more. When 3.7 at the Goulet → Éole in 4.7. Marin/E: also works, different conditions. Reference spot for all disciplines: slalom, speed, freestyle, freeride, jump. Sunset from WCC terrace: legendary.
