The Malerecke in Langenargen is the winter kite zone of the Surfclub Langenargen, active from November 1st to March 31st. Large site with wide beach and launch area. With Foehn arriving via the Rhine Delta, spectacular conditions with waves — the best surf days on the lake. Also a good windsurf spot, with school and full infrastructure from the Surfclub.
⚠️ Mandatory authorization: Sondergenehmigung (Schifffahrtsamt Bodenseekreis). Malerecke zone: November 1st – March 31st only. Launch zone: at the Windsurfclub, riding zone west of the BMK harbor entrance to east of the Langenargen municipal harbor entrance.
Access via L334 towards Langenargen, then follow "Malerecke". No direct parking — park at the nearby Yachthafen after unloading. Rigging area on the large lawn in front of the Surfclub.

Best with southerly Foehn and westerly wind. The Foehn arrives via the Rhine Delta with full power — sideshore left with waves. East wind is offshore — then prefer the other Langenargen spots (DLRG, Kurhotel).
Sudden Foehn (waves 3m+) and summer thunderstorms. With Foehn from the Rhine Delta, the wind arrives with full force — sideshore left, with waves. East wind is partially offshore from this spot. Kiting prohibited outside the zone and outside the season (November 1st – March 31st only here).
