Faros (the lighthouse) is a spot on Cape Drepano, near Nafpaktos, on the north shore of the Gulf of Corinth. This cape jutting into the gulf offers maximum exposure to channeled winds, with the lighthouse as an iconic landmark.
Cape Drepano creates a local acceleration effect that further strengthens the already powerful Gulf of Corinth wind. It's one of the windiest places in the Nafpaktos area, attracting experienced riders.
Same seasons as Gribovo (May-October). Cape effect offers stronger wind — ideal when neighboring beaches are too light. In strong wind (>20 knots), conditions around the cape become demanding.
Flat gulf water. Slight turbulence around the cape in strong wind. Rapid depth. Rocks around the cape — be careful!
