Sandbar State Park is a snowkite spot on a natural causeway on Lake Champlain, north of Burlington. In winter, when the lake freezes, this flat and open area offers ideal snowkite conditions with good fetch. The state park is accessible and well-maintained.

Open all year round
Check ice thickness before each session — minimum 15 cm required. Thin ice zones possible, especially near the causeway and currents. Very cold temperatures with hypothermia and frostbite risk. Wind can be strong and gusty. Never ride alone.
Snowkite on frozen lake with flat surface. Snow quality varies — from powder to icy depending on conditions. Wind is often channeled along Lake Champlain's north-south axis. Very cold winter temperatures — warm equipment essential.
